SATURDAY and it was a Men’s and Ladies Individual stableford played in pretty warm conditions with some impressive scores recorded. Three players tied on 40 points with Pe ter Biggs (19) recognised as the overall and B grade victor following his superior score on the back nine to win on C/B. Darren Janssen (11) had a good day to win A grade with 40 points. John Papworth playing consistently with 40 points won a DTL ball as did Jamie Peirce 39, Bill Reid 39, Mark Lynders 39, John Skar ratt 39, Dave Lothian 39 and Joe Foat on his welcome return from Tamworth with 38 points also recognised. Brian Busk won the NTP on 7, Nick Pretty the money on 15 and Steve Papworth with a nice strike got closest on 18. Peter Biggs with his 40 points also won the vets on C/B with DTL balls going to John Papworth, Jamie Peirce, Bill Reid and Dave Lothian. Dean Summerfield won a birdie ball prize on 7 and Allen Baggaley’s superb eagle two on 14 was rewarded. Sandra Denovan (19) won the Ladies stableford with 37 points . Michelle Staley and Kaye Irwin awarded DTL prizes. Tracey McKenzie won the NTP on 7 and Sandra to cap off a good day also won the NTP on 15. Tuesday January 24 Ladies day stable ford saw Frankie Maclennan (23) in terrific form to record a stunning 47 points to be the runaway victor. Anne Maree Skarratt 39 Sandra Deno van 36 and Michelle Staley 36 points on C/B winning DTL balls. Anne Maree won two NTP’s and Kaye Ir win the target hole prize on 1. In the Mens competition , Snowy Mani fold (35) following a four month absence due to knee surgery a wonderful comeback to win with 41 points. Alan Aldred a good day with 39 points, Dan Macey 37 and Allen Baggaley 36 points on C/B winning DTL balls. Dan Macey won the NTP on 7 and Ian Peel the money on 15 and then tapped in for a birdie and added four points to his score card! The good scoring continued in Thurs day’s nine hole chicken run with Bill Reid leading the way with 21 points. Anne Maree and John Skarratt both won chooks with 20 and Dennis Carmichael also with 20 points won some fare. Good scores following Green coring WITH the excitement of the Annual Pro Am done and dusted for another year the hard working course volunteers got to work on Wednesday January 18 to complete the annual coring of the greens. Saturday January 21 and competition was individual stableford and Jamie Peirce (19) in a rich vein of form following his 41 points in the Pro Am backed up to win over all and B grade on C/B with 38 points . saw Ladies captain Jen Nickell (25) in good form to win with 38 points. Sandra Denovan and Tracey McKenzie both winning DTL balls with 34 points on C/B. Anne Maree Skarratt got closest on 15 and Jen Nickell the target hole victor on 1. Allen Baggaley (17) knocking on the door in recent weeks, impressed to win the Mens Stableford with 39 points and also the NTP’s on 7 and the money on 15 to cap off a good day. DTl balls going to Dennis Carmichael 33, Robbo Robertson 33 and vising golfer Gra ham Boorer also with 33 points on C/B. The combination of Mark Goulden, Dan Dwyer, Frank Purgar and Craig Hios repre sented Yarram in Sunday’s Trafalgar Plate with the course in terrific condition. Dan Dwyer 36 points the best of the lo cals and Craig Hios a handy 30 points off a low mark the next best. Coming events include: the Traralgon Plate on Sunday Feb 5 the following day, IT has been a busy start to 2023. Mens and Ladies Championships, Monthly Medal and the start of the Mens Summer Knockout. In the Ladies rolling stableford competi tion, Anne Maree Skarratt (23) won with 36 points and lost a few shots off her handicap following another fine round. Kaye Irwin a DTL ball with 34 points.
